It effectively treats menstrual cramps and discomfort caused during menstrual periods. 

A menstrual cramp is a pain that occurs in the lower abdomen, which happens just before or at the beginning of a menstrual period.

HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE+MEFENAMIC ACID consists of two medicines: Hyoscine butyl bromide and Mefenamic acid. 

Hyoscine butyl bromide is an anticholinergic drug that stops muscle contractions by relaxing the muscles in the stomach, intestine, and bladder. Mefenamic acid is a non-anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes. 

Further, it prevents the formation of chemical messengers, 'prostaglandins' (PGs) that cause pain and swelling.
